CEREC Overview

CEREC is the world's only system for the fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in a single office visit. With CEREC at our dentist's side, you can be in and out in fewer visits with a permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay, or veneer! For you, the patient, this means fewer injections, less drilling, and less time out of your sightseeing schedule.

How does CEREC work?

CEREC uses digital technology to model and produce a ceramic crown, inlay or veneer. In a single office visit the dentist will prepare your tooth for the prosthesis and then takes a digital impression of the prepared tooth. This is done with an intra-oral camera which transfers the picture to an attached computer. On this computer the dentist will see a 3D model of your prepared tooth to model the prosthesis.

Then the finished model is sent to an attached computer driven mill, which will cut the prosthesis out of ceramic block. Finally the new prosthesis is placed and you are done - usually all this within an hour or two.

Benefits of CEREC

  • Metal Free - CEREC crowns, inlays and veneers are made from zirconia, a ceramic.
  • Time - CEREC is a real time saver as no laboratory turn around time is involved. The prosthesis is produced and placed in-office right away.
  • Precision - Due to digital technology CEREC prosthesis is most precise.
  • Aesthetics - Metal free ceramics meet highest aesthetic demands.
